In Home Family Support
When there are conflicts and problems exist at home, the safety and well-being of children can be at risk. The In-home Family Support program works to prevent, reduce or eliminate factors that may place a child or family in jeopardy.
The program has two streams:
- The In-home Family Support stream provides support around a variety of issues that may include parenting, household management, support with children’s behaviour, blended family issues, parent-teen conflict, relationship challenges, family violence, living skills, decision making and others. Aspen team members work collaboratively with each family for approximately six months to identify strengths and identify a course of action that will promote long-term change and healthy behaviours.
- The Therapeutic Access stream is for parents with children between birth and four years of age who are in the care of the Child and Family Services. This six- to ten- week program supports parents in developing sensitive parenting skills to be more responsive to their child’s needs, strengthen parent-child relationships and foster their child’s self-esteem and trust.
