The Sustainable Families Program works with families experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of homelessness, and have complex needs, are facing multiple barriers to success and/or are living in poverty. Aspen team members work closely with shelters and other community resources to help families find and keep stable housing, assess their personal, social, physical, financial and human assets; and work towards increasing their capacity to build self-sufficient futures.
Who is this program for?
Families experiencing homelessness and currently living in one of Calgary’s shelters or families who are near-homelessness. Families who are couch-surfiing or faced with a high-risk eviction where housing is no longer salvageable may also be a fit for this program.
How do you access this program?
Families must complete an assessment through a family shelter or through SCORCe to be placed with the Sustainable Families Program. Unfortunately Sustainable Families does not accept community referrals. To book an assessment at SCORCe, please call (403) 428-3300.
